Global mobility and delivery platform inDrive has issued a call to action for stronger, multi-sector collaboration among employers, investors, and policymakers. The appeal focuses on building robust support systems that empower Nigerian technology talent to transition from raw technical skills to scalable commercial ventures.
Speaking during a panel session titled "Building and Reshaping the Tech Talent Story" at GITEX Nigeria 2026 held at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos inDrive Nigeria Country Manager Timothy Oladimeji emphasized that while Nigeria possesses abundant human capital, the local ecosystem requires deeper institutional backing to offer practical career pathways.
Oladimeji noted that private-sector organizations hold a long-term responsibility to share operational insights, open internal learning resources, and invest directly in emerging professionals rather than solely recruiting pre-existing talent. He further highlighted structural barriers faced by startup founders particularly women entrepreneurs, referencing strong Nigerian participation in the Aurora Tech Award, where hurdles extend beyond basic technical training to securing early-stage capital and structured growth opportunities.
