Port Harcourt Opens 3-Day Niger Delta Investment Summit Targeting $50bn in Commitments
The Niger Delta Economic and Investment Summit (NDEIS) officially opened in Port Harcourt, targeting up to $50 billion in regional capital commitments across 30 deal-room projects spanning the blue economy, energy transition, and special economic zones.

Structured capital mobilization for Nigeria’s oil-producing core took center stage today as the Niger Delta Economic and Investment Summit (NDEIS) kicked off at the Obi Wali International Conference Centre, Port Harcourt. Organized by the Niger Delta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture (NDCCITMA), the three-day assembly (September 15–17) convenes over 1,000 delegates and 100+ exhibitors.
Chamber President and summit initiator Idaere Gogo-Ogan framed the gathering around an anticipated 500,000 net new regional jobs anchored on private-sector capital deployment. Key programmatic verticals feature:
Deal Room Pipeline: Presentation of 30+ vetted, investment-ready infrastructure and industrial projects.
Energy & Blue Economy: Decarbonization roadmaps, maritime logistics restructuring, and downstream refining integration (led by speakers including SEC DG Emomotimi Agama, NDDC CEO Samuel Ogbuku, and Renaissance Africa Energy CEO Tony Attah).
Keynote Anchor: Strategic positioning delivered by Access Holdings Chairman Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede on regional risk-adjusted capital pooling.
Analysts note that timing the regional summit alongside active upstream anti-theft maritime crackdowns provides a stress-tested baseline for institutional allocators evaluating long-term production and regional special economic zone participation.
